A Podiatrist holds a registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Podiatry. Podiatry is the health profession that deals with conditions affecting the human foot and lower limb.

Our Podiatrists at Queensland Foot Centres are highly credentialed professionals who are continually updating their skill set and knowledge.
Podiatry appointments with all our staff are 30min long unless you have been booked in to undergo a Nail Wedge Resection on an ingrown toe nail. For the NWR procedure in clinic we allow 1 hour.
You do no not need a medical referral to receive treatment from a podiatrist or to be able to claim a private health rebate for podiatry services from a private health fund.
*Please note if you are under a WorkCover claim we do need a referral on file to ensure you are covered. Without this referral you may need to pay in full for your appointment and claim back through WorkCover
Yes, we have HICAPS facilities at all of our locations. We cannot type in patients membership numbers so please remember to bring your card to your appointment. You will be required to pay the gap payment.
If you are unsure if you are covered by Podiatry we encourage patients to phone their health fund prior to their appointment.
Yes, at all our locations we have waiting lists. They usually only have patients on them during busy times. If you phone and the date and time you would like is not available please ask to be put on the waiting list. If an appointment time comes available we work our way down the waiting list starting with those who were on it first. If they don’t answer or return our call straight away we move down and you may get lucky!
We also accept walk in appointments at all locations if there is an appointment available or you are happy to wait a short time.
If your reason for attending is to have your footwear and biomechanics checked due to foot & leg pain we recommend patients bring along their day-day shoes and any sports/walking/running shoes they may have. If you are already wearing orthotics please bring these along to the appointment with you.
If you have had an xray or ultrasound on your injury you are coming to us about please bring these images if you have access to them.
Please wear comfy clothes to the clinic that we can easily see your feet up to your knees. If you are coming from work and are wearing stockings or long pants you are welcome to change in our treatment room or bathroom prior to the appointment.
All patients will receive a reminder text message the day before IF they have given us their correct mobile number. If we don’t have a mobile number on file we cannot do reminders.
All our locations have parking available either on site with a private car park or street parking. If you’d like specific parking guidance on a location please phone 07 3379 1200.
We understand life happens and that sometimes our patients cannot make appointments. We ask that you give us plenty of notice of your cancellation so we can offer your time slot to someone on the waiting list. Repeated cancellations at short notice may be invoiced a cancellation fee.
Yes you can re-order another set of orthotics. If nothing has changed and you are happy with your current set, no appointment is required. It is recommended if it has been 12 months for children or 2 years for adults that you have a review consultation first. Just phone 3379 1200 and our friendly team can help you.
